Consists in the main of letters to John Parker Boyd, 1764-1830, brigadier-general in the War of 1812. Letters consist of orders to Boyd in command of the 4th infantry regiment to reinforce William Henry Harrison for his 1811 campaign against the Indians, which culminated in the Battle of Tippecanoe; requests from Harrison for ammunition; Henry Dearborn's letter of farewell, July 15, 1813, to the field officers of the army at Fort George; and instructions from General James Wilkinson at Sacketts Harbor and Grenadier Island during the 1813 campaign against Canada.
